1. Eligibility
1. You are eligible for VRS after completing 20 years of qualifying service.
2. Eligibility also applies after completing 50 years of age.
3. Governed by FR 56(j) and AP Government rules.
2. Pension Benefits
4. You will get full pension, same as normal retirement.
5. Pension is calculated as:
50% of last 10 months average basic pay.
6. Pension starts from the day after VRS acceptance.
7. Pension is NOT reduced or penalized for taking VRS.
3. Gratuity
8. You will receive full Retirement Gratuity.
9. Gratuity formula:
(Last Basic Pay + DA) × 1/4 × number of completed 6-month periods (max 33 years).
10. Maximum gratuity limit approx ₹20 lakhs.
4. Commutation
11. You can commute (take in advance) up to 40% of pension.
12. Commuted portion is paid as lump sum.
13. Pension after commutation will be restored after 15 years.
5. Leave Encashment
14. Earned Leave (EL) encashment up to 300 days.
15. Half Pay Leave (HPL) encashment up to 180 days (as per eligibility).
6. GPF / CPS Settlement
16. GPF employees: Entire GPF balance + interest.
17. CPS employees: PRAN final settlement + Government contribution + interest.
7. Other Benefits
18. APGLI final amount.
19. GIS maturity amount.
20. Medical reimbursement for pending bills (as per rules).
21. Settlement TA (if eligible).
8. Any Loss in Benefits?
22. No loss of pension or gratuity.
23. VRS benefits = Same as normal superannuation retirement.
24. No penalty or deduction for taking VRS after 20 years.

10. VRS Procedure
29. Apply 3 months before planned retirement date.
30. Submit VRS application to Head of Office.
31. Department verifies service book & eligibility.
32. VRS order is issued.
33. Pension papers are prepared and forwarded for approval.
